Rukshan Wijeratne, P.E. SECB

RUKSHAN WIJERATNE is a 1994 graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural emphasis, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration, emphasis in Operations Management, from The University of South Alabama, 1998.

Upon graduating from Purdue, Rukshan began his professional career at M & W Engineers, Inc in Pascagoula, MS where he worked as a design engineer in the oil and gas industry. In 1999, he began a long tenure at Barter & Associates, Inc in Mobile, Alabama designing commercial, industrial and institutional structures. Rukshan, recently joined with Calvetti & Associates, Inc. as partner after a short tenure in the field of Forensic engineering.

Rukshan is licensed in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi, and has over 15 years of experience designing school, higher educational institutions, medical facilities, penal facilities, churches, office complexes, and structures utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, light gauge metal and other engineered material. He has extensive experience designing connections for high-rise structures stabilizing, renovating and restoring historic buildings. His designs have included a variety of lateral systems for both high wind and seismic requirements.

Rukshan is a member of the Structural Engineer’s Certification Board (SECB) and Structural Engineers Association of Texas, SEAoT, Houston Chapter.
